A bit of history
Part of the « Domaine de la Prévôte » was built in the 16th century. At that time, the buildings known as “La Ferme”, « La Tropézienne » and “La Grange” with its courtyard stood on the property. Built by the provost of the era, a figure of local authority, these buildings have since been renovated but retain all their original charm. Upon his death, the provost bequeathed the estate to his favorite wife, thus giving the place its name.
Over the centuries, life there developed in near self-sufficiency: vineyards, olive groves, orchards, and fields of grain surrounded the main building, while the lively courtyard housed a henhouse, a forge, and winemaking vats.
After three generations in the hands of the Plumier family, the Domaine was acquired in 2021 by Angélique and Julien Huchette. Passionate about wine and heritage, they continue to renovate and preserve this exceptional place with unwavering dedication, welcoming you to a haven of peace where history, authenticity, nature, and the Provençal art of living intertwine.
At the end of the 19th century, the Domaine de la Prévôte was acquired by the Plumier family, whose ancestor was the chief mining engineer of Provence. It was during this period that « Le Mas » and « Le Bastidon » were built.
Canals once irrigated magnificent French gardens, and the Domaine became a true family haven, a place to gather, laugh, and share a drink in the shade of pines and cedars—a place imbued with a gentle charm reminiscent of Pagnol’s films.
